Winter weather isn't holding back this holiday season, and you shouldn't either. This week includes one of the biggest annual charitable days in the state, plus many more ways to get involved.

Give: Every day is a chance to give, but Community First Foundation's Colorado Gives Day provides an organized opportunity to help at home and around the world. The online philanthropy initiative raised more than $15 million for more than 1,000 Colorado charities last year, and this year they’re hoping to break that record. Tuesdaywww.coloradogives.org

Eat: Colorado Gives Day isn’t just about donations, though. You also have the opportunity to get involved in person. For $25, enjoy a Boston Market chicken dinner while supporting an end to childhood hunger. All proceeds go to Cooking Matters Colorado's scholarship program. Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.; Hospitality Learning Center, Metropolitan State University

Cheer: Help throw a party for thousands of underprivileged children in the Denver metro area. Concert For Kids' annual Holidays For Kids event gives children a chance to enjoy some of the season's most fun traditions: cookies, presents, and a chance to meet Santa himself. Volunteers are needed to help wrap gifts, paint faces, and more. December 12, 13, 16, and 19; multiple Denver locations

Gift: The Arapahoe Santa Shop has donated gifts to children in need for 54 years. More than 2,900 kids in the Littleton, Sheridan, and Englewood school districts have been referred to the program this year, and Santa's elves can only make so many toys. Thursday–Friday; multiple drop-off locations
