Fans of mostly obscure indie bands hailing from Colorado and beyond will have a weekend full of options at the 2014 Underground Music Showcase. The 14th annual event kicks off Thursday evening and runs through Sunday at venues up, down, and around Broadway Street.

The event features more than 400 acts playing at more than 20 sites. Among the local acts scheduled to appear are Snake Rattle Rattle Snake (Thursday, 11 p.m., Hi-Dive), Varlet (Thursday, 11:59 p.m., Irish Rover), Anthony Ruptak (Thursday, 11:59 p.m., Hornet), Covenhoven (Friday, 7 p.m., South Broadway Christian Church—SBCC), Patrick Dethlefs (Friday, 8 p.m., SBCC), Ian Cooke (Friday, 10 p.m., SBCC), Blake Brown and the American Dust Choir (Saturday, 8 p.m., Skylark Lounge), Shady Elders (Saturday, 9 p.m., Hi-Dive), The Photo Atlas (Saturday, 9 p.m., 3 Kings Tavern), A. Tom Collins (Saturday, 11:59 p.m., Hi-Dive), and Inner Oceans (Sunday, 4 p.m., Skylark Lounge).

Headliners on the main stage at 21 South Broadway include Tanlines and People Under the Stairs (Friday), Real Estate (Saturday), and Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Blonde Redhead (Sunday). Tickets are $50 for a four-day pass ($75 if you wait until Thursday—but they also might sell out before that, so act fast), or $35 for a single-day pass. The passes allow you to see any event as long as there's space available. The UMS also offers volunteer opportunities.
