Rock ’n’ roll hasn’t been just rock ’n’ roll since the days of Bill Haley and Chuck Berry. Today, there’s heavy metal, alternative, punk, ska, and even something called Viking rock, to name a few subgenres. Whatever variation suits your ears, there’s a good chance you’ll hear it at the inaugural Loudwire Music Festival, June 26 to 28, at Grand Junction’s Jam Ranch, equidistant from the music hubs of Denver and Salt Lake City. Headlined by Weezer, Linkin Park, and Rob Zombie (pictured), the outdoor festival will feature more than 25 bands. When weary of ear-splitting amps, you can enjoy nearly 50 venders hawking food, booze, and other sundries or retreat to one of 3,000 camping spots ($130 to $215) outfitted with their own porta-potties ($150 extra). After all, less time in line means more time for rockin’.
