Dr. Kate Hakala has worked in the dental field since 1976. She began as an assistant in her father's dental practice, then graduated from the University of Colorado as a dental hygienist in 1982. After practicing dental hygiene for 3 years, she returned to the CU and graduated from the School of Dental Medicine in 1989, Cum Laude. She served on the Colorado State Dental Board for 6 years and has been active in the Colorado Dental Association. She is now back at CU again - as a part-time instructor at the dental school, supervising dental students.
Dr. Kate and her staff can provide a wide range of dental care, including all phases of implants, root canal treatment, cosmetic dentistry, and extractions. She feels strongly that patients should be given a range of treatment options and be able to choose the care that best suits their personal priorities, needs and budget. The office accepts Delta Dental of CO, both the premier and PPO levels.
In 2007, Dr. Kate realized that there was need for after-hours dental care in the Denver metro area. She developed Dental 911, which is a dental practice that is open holidays, Saturdays, Sundays and evenings. Patients can be seen on a walk-in basis for emergency dental care 365 days a year, even on Christmas day.
Dr. Kate and her husband have been married for over 30 years and have 2 teenagers. They also have hosted numerous exchange students from all over the world.
