Dr. Itay Melamed has a small office that provides intimate and personal care to each of his patients. Both doctor and staff are compassionate, as they try to address the specific needs for each patient. Dr. Melamed’s philosophy is prevention first; however, when necessary Dr. Melamed provides only the best care he can for patients requiring surgical need.
Dr. Melamed is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in the open vascular and neuro-interventional treatment of brain aneurysm—he can both clip or coil aneurysms—minimally invasive treatment of brain tumors; other brain vascular disorders; skull base disorders; and spinal issues.
He attended medical school in Denver and residency at the University of Missouri. Dr. Melamed did additional training during his residency in cerebrovascular and skull base, and then went on to do a two-year fellowship in endovascular techniques with the prestigious Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine in Indiana. This extra training makes Dr. Melamed one of only a few physicians in the country trained in both open vascular and minimally invasive endovascular techniques for management of brain aneurysms, brain tumors, and other cerebrovascular disorders.
Dr. Melamed then began working with the same group in Indianapolis and served as an clinical assistant professor for Indiana University, where he trained fellows and residents in endovascular techniques.
Dr. Melamed then decided to come home and has been working in Denver since 2013. He has received numerous awards both from patients and other organizations. For full details, please go the Advanced Brain & Spine website at advbrainandspine.com.
