A Colorado native, Dr. Miklin received his degree in medicine from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He completed residency training in internal medicine and cardiology, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease, at the University of Utah. Returning to Colorado, Dr. Miklin joined Heart Institute of Colorado in 1983. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, he is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, and is chief of the Cardiac Service Line at SCL Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Dr. Miklin has been named a Top Doctor by Denver’s 5280 Magazine in 1998, 2009, and again in 2016, when he won recognition in both Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is also on the staff of SCL St. Joseph Hospital in Denver and SCL Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado. Dr. Miklin’s interests encompass a vast range of cardiology, from preventative medicine to the most complex cardiac cases, including complex interventions involving heart attacks, angioplasties and stents.
An active runner and skier, you can often see Dr. Miklin running the trails around Lutheran Hospital at lunchtime. Outside the hospital or clinic, you will find him playing golf or fixing almost anything around the house. He is also a busy husband and father, keeping up with his wife and five children, including two sets of twins.
