Denver Beer Co. does a lot of things right. They’ve got a drool-worthy location for a taproom (and patio). An unforgettable name (even after a few brews). And a trendy, but classic logo (ah, mountains). So, we weren’t surprised in 2012 that they found a way to pair two of our favorite things (beer and bikes) with the foot-powered Incredible Pedal IPA.
Fast forward a few years, and this IPA has become a 5280 favorite. (To wit: It was the first brew tapped when the office kegerator arrived.) And we were keen to try this brew at home once it was offered in cans.
While the aggressive hops mean that this isn’t a lawnmower beer, it is light enough to fill in as a summer-y brew on a warm evening (or on a cold one when you want to forget the chill). The nose has a delightful lemon-y scent and there’s ample carbonation to keep the brew light. There’s a whopping amount of bitterness on first sip, but that should dissipate and balance out as you drink. All of which means that, once again, Denver Beer Co. got it right.
