Top Taco...who will win it all?
Consider the taco: The corn (or flour) tortilla is nothing if not a blank canvas for any number of spectacular combinations—and tonight, Denver's obsession with the Mexican food staple turns into a throwdown. The first-annual Top Taco will transform Sculpture Park into a taco- and margarita-tasting bonanza. A ticket ($65 general admission; $125 VIP) buys you unlimited sampling from 23 competitors, including staples such as Pinche Tacos, Comida, Adelitas, and Machete, and a few dark horses (the Squeaky Bean, the Kitchen Next Door, and Highland Tap and Burger). No matter who wins, it's going to be a delicious battle of grilled meats, salsa, and cheese.
In addition to People's Choice awards, a panel of judges (myself included) will determine the champions for most creative taco, most traditional taco, and best margarita. Let the feasting begin.
