Heroic Paintings

Artist Nick Musaelian created this exhibit by reading heaps of German idealist philosophy and playing with Playmobil toy people. As a result, beneath each oil painting is a provocative Nietzsche quote on themes of suffering and heroes. Meanwhile, the Playmobil characters act out the quotes to bring a fresh level of insight to the heady concepts. Deep musings such as "I did it because all men are cowards" are ironically juxtaposed with smiling, plastic toy faces. Days, times vary.
