4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks
Engage in 4,000 years of Jewish history and culture in this recent addition to the museum’s permanent exhibits. The curators took artifacts, fine art, video, and photography from the museum— and from all around the world—to narrate the Jewish experience. The “Gathering Sparks” theme comes from a myth that when light was created, it was dispersed into vessels, which shattered, scattering sparks of divine light throughout the world for humans to find on their own in order to heal the world and make it complete. The exhibit hopes to connect visitors in a similar way. Mon-Wed 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Thu 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Fri 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sun 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
