A Soldier's Play

It's 1944, on  Louisiana's Fort Neal U.S. Army base. The military is segregated, and black Sergeant Vernon Waters is fatally shot by an unknown assailant. As Captain Richard Davenport interviews witnesses in an attempt to solve the case, he is challenged by deeply ingrained racism--not just between blacks and whites, but also within the African-American community itself--and discovers just how much it impacts human behavior.
