Holiday Small Works Show and Sale

Looking for something original to gift this holiday season? Try some local art work. Pick out the perfect piece for a friend, then find one to keep. Small to medium sized works will be available at budget friendly prices―most items cost less than $100―from Spark artists such as Patricia Aaron, Leo Franco, Kellie Cannon, Rob Watt, and Barbara Baer. Come Friday for the opening reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and enjoy food, drink, and local shopping. Thu 12 p.m.

Battle of the Champions

There's a new ball on Pepsi Center court. Eight-time Grand Slam winner Andre Agassi, French Open winner Michael Chang, five-time Masters 1000 champion Jim Courier, and 17-time Grand Slam winner John McEnroe will play a single-elimination tennis tounament on the main stage. Go big with the VIP package to test out your swing in a pre-match clinic with the players followed by a buffet and open bar. Thu 7:30 p.m.

This band, from Las Vegas, has had three Grammy nominations and more than 6 million albums sold in the United States. The American rock group started back in 2001 and is back after a six-year hiatus to release their fourth studio album, Battle Born. Hear classic hits from them like “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me,” along with their new single “Runaways.” Thu 8 p.m.

First stop: Denver. This international collaborative mixes dance, theatric elements, and spoken word. Two Quebec dance companies meet up with Denver Control Group Productions’ experimental artists to perform both solo and collaborative numbers that explore the relationship between global and local. Expect raw energy and explosive dance moves. Thu-Sat 8 p.m.
