Imran Ahmad: A Muslim Boy Meets the West

Pakistan-born writer Imran Ahmad studied chemistry and worked in corporation management before writing his first book, The Perfect Gentleman: A Muslim Boy Meets the West. Ahmad shares his struggle of discovering and maintaining his Islamic heritage while trying to embrace the West, in which he was raised. Battling big questions such as who goes to Hell and why, and how to create a James-Bond persona while your parents are arranging your marriage, Ahmad's journey leads him back and forth across the indelible bridge of cultural memory and self-authorship. Thu 7:30 p.m.
