The Colorado Symphony Orchestra kicks off its summer masterpiece series with Gustav Mahler's longest—and most rarely performed—piece, Symphony 3. The music itself is rousing, summery, and gives intellectual nods to other works, including Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophical opus, Also Sprach Zarathustra. Fri-Sat 7:30 p.m.
