Denver Zoo's Elephant Passage Opening Day

Tags: Elephant Passage, Denver Zoo

Imagine that you and your family exploring the jungles of southeast Asia together when out of the forest appears a 10-foot-tall, 11,000 pound bull elephant. Well, it won’t take much imagination at the Denver Zoo, where the brand new 10-acre addition will give visitors just such an experience. Not only will the new habitat be home to Asian elephants, it will also house Clouded Leopards, Rhinos and White-Cheeked Gibbons. Some of the new creature comforts include two miles of trails for the elephants to wander, a bridge where zoo guests can watch the pachyderms pass overhead, and a trunk activated shower so they can cool off on balmy summer days. Big things are coming to the zoo… really big things. Fri 9 a.m.-5p.m.
