Old Fashioned 4th of July

Tags: Four Mile Historic Park

The Four Mile Historic Park is a great alternative to the throngs at Civic Center Park. There will be a little bit of everything for all ages from all ages: Thomas Jefferson is giving a speech, the family can take a horse drawn wagon ride or visit a Civil War encampment, and a fire engine from the Denver Fire Department is available for the kids to investigate. In lieu of an extended fireworks display, the Civil War reenactors are firing a cannon at the top of every hour. If you get a sweet tooth there is even be delicious kettle corn and wood-fire cookies. It’s Independence day the way your great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandparents celebrated it. Wed 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
