William Elliott Whitmore
There are some musicians who stick in your minds, who you feel compelled to tell your friends about. William Elliott Whitmore is that kind of performer. Armed with minimalist instrumentation (either a banjo or acoustic guitar) and his deeper-than-deep voice, Whitmore touches on timeless themes of land grabbing, social injustice, family ties, and lover's strife. While Whitmore's American roots are entrenched in his music, it's the modern, punk-rock-like intensity of his delivery that makes audience quickly realize he's much more than a novelty act.
