The Rake's Progress
Tom Rakewell has a good thing going with Anne Trulove, as the couple enjoy a simple life in the English countryside. But when he is tempted by a man named Nick Shadow (aka the devil), Tom leaves Anne for the hustle and bustle of London's society life—a decision that "leads him toward madness and despair." Loosely based on engravings by William Hogarth, CU's steampunk version of the opera features colorful costumes, pumped-up hairdos, and a mashup of modern-meets-Victorian styling. Fri 7:30 p.m.; Sun 2 p.m.
