Ben Sollee is that rare artist whose music makes sense in a rock club, a rustic cabin, and a classical auditorium. The young cellist and singer-songwriter—he's collaborated with accomplished jazz-banjoist Bela Fleck and shaggy-haired folk-rocker Jim James—has been pushing his emotive voice and heady arangements into elegant jazz, pop, and folk territory since going solo in 2008.
