William McKay, who played keyboards for Boulder-based Leftover Salmon, won’t face criminal charges after being accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman following a New Year’s Eve gig, according to The Associated Press, which reports the Eagle County district attorney did not have enough evidence to bring a case against the 39-year-old Denver musician, who has performed with the likes of the Derek Trucks Band. After McKay’s arrest, bandmate Drew Emmitt told the press that Leftover Salmon, a 20-year-old group known for originating the “polyethnic cajun slamgrass” style, booted McKay from its ranks. McKay declined comment.
