Ned Wynkoop and the Lonely Road from Sand Creek

Tags: Tattered Cover, Rocky Mountain Land Series, Ned Wynkoop

Colorado legend Ned Wynkoop made plenty of friends and enemies during the Wild West days. As a sheriff, actor, and colonel, Wynkoop's part in Colorado history is only hinted at by the LoDo street named for him. Historian Louis Kraft's expert knowledge of Wynkoop’s life history is prevalent in his new book, Ned Wynkoop and the Lonely Road from Sand Creek. Kraft will discuss this book, which details Wynkoop’s efforts to prevent war with Native Americans during the volatile 1860s. Mon 2 p.m.
