Rudy (played by Alan Cumming) is a flamboyant drag queen. When he knocks on a neighbor's door to complain about loud noises, he discovers Marco—a teenager with Down syndrome—who has been abandoned since his mother's arrest for drugs and prostitution. Rudy reluctantly cares for Marco at first, but he soon finds himself wanting a more permanent arrangement as the boy's caretaker. When Rudy starts dating a straight-and-narrow attorney in the D.A.'s office, the couple seeks to adopt Marco but face steep obstacles and prejudice along the way. (Watch the trailer.)
