Another Weird Day Off Camp

Submitted by Paige DePaolis on Wed, 02/06/2013 - 10:39am

Don’t let the random breaks from school go to waste. At this fantasy-inspired art day camp, kids will get crafty with clay. First, the little sculptors will learn some tips on how to get started, then they let their fingers get to work creating and decorating dragon sculptures that they can bring home. Leave the rest to My Art Workshop, where the clay figures will be fired and ready to bring home as a decoration for the house. Wed 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

A solid foundation in cooking starts with the knife. This hands-on knife skills class focuses on technique—from the proper way to hold a knife to executing a fine julienne—as you prepare dinner. Participants will hone their slicing skills while preparing a roasted vegetable medley, sweet potatoes with a honey cinnamon glaze, chicken fajitas with a basil-parsley pesto, and more. Wed 6:30-9:30 p.m.
