Tattoo legends—including actor Danny Trejo and tattoo artist turned designer Ed Hardy—spill the chronicles of the “ink revolution” at the height of its metamorphosis in East Los Angeles. The documentary covers a number of milestones such as the introduction of the ink gun as well as a number of more taboo topics, like the influence of black-and-gray-style prison works on professional “photo real” artistry today.

During a time when nasty gossip held as much weight as a guilty verdict, members of the church branded young Susannah Polk as a sinner. Written during the political persecutions of the McCarthy era, this two-act opera follows Polk as a slew of accusations are thrown on her. After being spotted bathing in a creek, she is falsely accused of seducing a town member and is shunned from her community. Set in a rural mountain town in Tennessee, Polk struggles to survive amidst the slander. Thu-Sun 7:30 p.m.
