Rock 'n' roll has never been so rewarding. Run to the groove set by a live band, the aptly-named Watertower, at this 5K along the Platte River in Littleton. Participants are encouraged to wear old band T-shirts (just in case you were looking for an excuse to wear that faded Guns N' Roses shirt you bought in the 80s). After the race, prizes will be awarded based on set age and gender categories. Sun 9 a.m.

Your little entertainers may even get to belt out a few notes from the theatre’s stage to test out their singing skills. Activities vary based on group preference because the Fun Forum is all about imagination and creative expression. Available for ages 3 and up. Sun noon-2 p.m.

When it comes to cultural currency, guitarist Johnny Marr is a rich man. He played guitar with legendary Brit rockers the Smiths and was involved in several high-profile projects, including plucking for Modest Mouse. More recently, he made a hilarious appearance in Portlandia and nailed a set at Coachella.

Fresh off the release of her new album Chronicles of Marnia, New Yorker Marnie Stern brings her gritty sound to the Mile High City. Guitar-heavy tracks like “Year of the Glad” are accompanied by Stern’s feminine singing voice, creating a musical juxtaposition reminiscent of indie-pop bands Beach House and Vampire Weekend. Sun 9 p.m.
