Remember the simple wonders of story time? Resurrect this childhood pleasure with Stories on Stage, a theater company that takes storytelling to a new, more mature level sans the footie pj’s and picture books. Add professional actors and highly acclaimed literature like The Girls by Joy Williams, Before by Gary Schanbacher, and The Cousins by Joyce Carol Oates. With themes about family dynamics and the complexities of human nature, these contemporary short stories are gripping and thought-provoking. Sun 1:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

Celebrate this Cinco de Mayo porcine-style! In addition to traditional margs to mark the occasion, Lola rounds up top chefs like Brandon Foster of Vespa Dipping Grill and Amos Watts of Jax Denver to join Lola's Drew Hardin in creating a feast of swine. Live music from local bands—including rock and roll trio the Congress—is sure to keep the party lively. Sun 4-10 p.m.

Devendra Banhart

Submitted by Jake Jensen on Fri, 04/26/2013 - 10:53am

Devendra Banhart’s artistic vision is a full, audio-visual package. The singer’s most recent album, last month’s Mala, showcases his soft-yet-strong voice—occasionally singing in Spanish—over minimalistic guitar, percussion, and electronic embellishments. But his talent extends beyond abstract, retro-leaning folk-rock songs: He is also a skilled artist whose paintings and drawings have been displayed in renowned modern art museums across the globe. The opening act is folk singer-songwriter Rodrigo Amarante. Sun 8 p.m.
