South Pearl Farmer's Market Opening Day

Break out your baskets, it's time to fill them with the bounty of spring. The South Pearl farmer's market has grown significantly from its premier in 2001, when it lasted just one day, with only ten vendors. Today the market spans 22 weeks and boasts more than 60 vendors. Sun 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Film, paint, clay and…cloth? Discover a different perspective in this museum-wide display of all things textile-related—from Navajo blankets to modern fiber art. Check out the drop-in textile studio and crochet coral reef, which allows visitors to be hands-on with fabrics. Tue-Thu 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fri 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat-Sun 10 a.m.-5 p.m.


Denver Poker Open Deep Stack Tournament

Feeling lucky? Put that mojo to good use with this no limit Texas hold’em tournament. Food trucks will be posted up outside to feed the hungry and a $5,000 prize pot will go to one fortunate winner. Bonus: A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Aurora Bears Youth Sports Club to help buy equipment and uniforms. Sun 11 a.m. 


Bar Wars

When Denver's favorite bartenders face-off to create the tastiest cocktail everyone wins. This afternoon fund-raiser pits people's choice bartenders from Denver bars including Black Crown, Charlie's Denver, and the Denver Wrangler in competitions like favorite flair bartending routine (think: tossing, spinning, and juggling booze) to raise funds for the Denver Colorado AIDS Project. Wristband purchases include samples of more than 30 specialty cocktails and tastes from Diego's Mexican Food & Cantina. Sun 1-4 p.m.


Five at Five Dinner

Denver's top chefs coming together to make dinner—count us in! The all-star Five team (Sean Yontz of El Diablo, Brian Laird of Sketch, Jorel Pierce of Euclid Hall, and sommelier Jonathan Greschler) will be led by Matt Selby of Corner House for this five-course wine- or cocktail-paired dinner. Secure your spot as tickets go fast for these intimate dinners (part of an on-going series). Proceeds benefit Share Our Strength, a community network providing innovative hunger solutions for children. Mon 6-8 p.m.

Duck Dynasty Live in Castle Rock

Duck, beards, and camo­—three nouns synonymous with Wille and Phil Robertson, stars of the popular television show Duck Dynasty. In this one-night-only event they will discuss the rise of their backyard duck call business into a multimillion dollar sporting empire. Bringing their unique sense of humor and down home practicality to the stage, a range of topics will be addressed, including boats, business, and (of course) ducks. Sun 7-8:30 p.m.
