Hanuman Festival

Meditate, hike, and bike your way into a new state of mind. This one-of-a-kind festival returns to Boulder with a bevy of yoga teachers, speakers, and musicians. Pack your days with yoga classes and inspirational lectures, group hiking treks in the Flatirons and biking excursions through the People's Republic. Live musical performances by Saul David Raye, Trevor Hall, and MC Yogi will cap off each day's festivities. Thu 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Fri 8 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Sat 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Harlem Globetrotters Summer Basketball Clinics for Kids

Do your kids want to shoot hoops and pass like the pros? Sign them up for the Harlem Globetrotters summer basketball clinic. During the two-hour session kids will practice everything from dribbling to shooting with professional basketball players. Clinics also include motivational talks on bullying prevention and character development. Children ages six to 12, no experience necessary. Clinics are also available in Fort Collins. Thu-Sat 9 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.; 3:30 p.m.

The kindergarten art of collage grows up with this display of small- and large-scale paper works—using a variety of textures and colors—from local, national, and international artists. Date Night

Grab your sweetheart and a picnic basket for a star-strewn evening at the Botanic Gardens. Couples can enjoy their picnic suppers in the garden amphitheater and make their own sweet treats at a dessert bar. After dinner, try free swing dancing lessons while listening to the tunes of Swing Je T’aime, or simply stroll through the gardens. Thu 6-8 p.m.

Colorado Barbecue Challenge

Kansas City, Texas red, smoked, cured, or just plaing grilled—this family-friendly festival celebrates all things barbecue. Sample dishes including ribs, chicken, brisket, sides, and dessert from more than 70 culinary competitors from across the region. The event kicks off Thursday night with live music followed by two full days of barbecue goodness. Thu-Sat, times vary.

Ginger & Rosa

Ginger and Rosa were inseparable best friends coming of age in 1960s London. But as the Cuban Missile Crisis escalates and the threat of nuclear holocaust looms, their friendship is redefined. The Cold War confronts the Sexual Revolution as Ginger is drawn to poetry and protest, while Rosa experiments with cigarettes and boys. Thu 7 p.m.

They then venture out on their own only to realize they belong together in this ever-popular 1960 musical. Sonic Bloom Festival

This soulful, seasoned singer-songwriter has some pretty impressive admirers. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have been in the audience for several performances, and she's shared the stage with rock titans R.E.M. and Patti Smith. Yamagata’s emotional folk-pop songs have been in a slew of movies, TV shows, and a decade’s worth of albums, including her latest, Heavyweight. Thu 8 p.m.

The Iran Job

This documentary focuses Kevin Sheppard, a flashy point guard from the U.S. Virgin Islands. After being skipped over in the NBA draft, he joins an Iranian basketball team.
