Step Up for Cancer

Each year, 20,000 Coloradans are diagnosed with cancer. This stair-climbing event aims to raise funds and awareness for cancer organizations. A “stairless” course is available for those unable to—or who would rather not tackle—the 33 rows of steps. Sun 6:30 a.m.


Kids for Kids Triathlon

Be active for a good cause. Kids will swim laps in the rec center and then head to Winter Park's trails for the biking and running portions. Distances vary by age. All proceeds will be donated to the Fraser Valley Recreation foundation for youth scholarships. Sun 8:30 a.m.-noon.

Viva Streets

Hit the streets of Denver with bikers, walkers, runners, and dancers at this third annual event. With blocks of car-free streets, Viva Streets brings the city together to celebrate and promote the active Colorado lifestyle with a parade, healthy food, yoga, and face painting. Sun 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Rocky Mountain Music Festival

Featuring acoustic, rock, blues, and country acts, this fest can please just about every musical palate. Four winners of the Rocky Mountain Battle of the Bands are in the lineup, and Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes headlines. Sat 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

 Jukebox hero Mick Jones still leads this bluesy rock band after 37 years of cold-as-ice hits. Sing along to old favorites or watch as a new generatoin of fans discovers them. Sun 6:30 p.m.


The Polyphonic Spree

Tim DeLaughter often dreamt about symphonic pop rock with melodic vocals and triumphant instrumentation. But it wasn't until 2000, when the Polyphonic Spree formed, that fans got a taste of it, too. Earlier this month, this 20-person band released Yes, It's True, another upbeat, psychedelic album to add to its canon. Sun 8 p.m.
