Heart & Sole

Race on land, race on water—the choice is yours at this annual contest benefiting the more than five million people living with AIDS in South Africa. This year, the standard  half marathon and 10K runs share the schedule with two stand-up paddle boarding competitions (one or three miles). All participants can celebrate post-race with a buffet plus refreshments from Avery Brewing Company. Sun 7:15 a.m.

 

Heart and Sole Stand-up Paddleboard

Heart and Sole added a stand-up paddleboard race to its annual 10 and half marathon. The SUP Cup offers a 1K novice and three-mile elite race. Sun 8:15 a.m.-noon. 

 

Oh My Gawd 10-Mile and 10K Hill Climb

Hoof it up Oh My Gawd Road during a 10K or 10-mile hill climb. The first runner to summit OMG earns the title of King or Queen of the Hill. Scenic mountain views on the way down will lift your spirits and propel you to the finish line. Sun 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Colorado Courage 5K

Bring your kids, dogs, and strollers to this 5K, which benefits the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies. When you're done walking or running the race, snack on sandwiches during the PB&J social. Sun 9 a.m.

 

Affordable Arts Festival

More than 110 local and national artists are out to sell pieces, including jewelry, paintings, photography, and more. The one rule? All pieces must be $100 or less. This includes that $1,000 sculpture you wanted last year but couldn’t afford. Sun 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

The Tomato Dinner

The versatile tomato has been popping up on late-summer menus around town lately. To truly appreciate the ingredient, we suggest sitting down for an entire meal based around it. Vesta Dipping Grill chef Brandon Foster explores the humble vegetable (or is it a fruit?)  during this seven-course, paired dinner.
