1950s Voodoo Island Tiki Ball

Submitted by Jerilyn Forsythe on Thu, 08/22/2013 - 3:17pm

Squeeze in one last poolside celebration. The Hawaiian-inspired Tiki Ball recalls the island craze that swept the United States in the 1950s. And the theme is no joke: entertainment includes Polynesian fire dancing, a nine-piece Afro-Cuban orchestra, and a reenactment of Elvis Presley’s Blue Hawaii. Also enjoy authentic Polynesian food, a limbo contest—and mermaid classes for those who want to learn how to swim with the fish. Sat 4 p.m.-Sun 1 a.m.
