A "traditional" family can be hard to define in 2013—and Motherhood Out Loud celebrates that. Though full of comical portrayals of the frustrations and sleep-deprived moments that characterize motherhood, the show delves into more serious issues, too: There's the mom who's constantly answering questions about her adopted Chinese daughter, and the gay dad whose friends don't think babies and Armani furniture jive. The production is part of Avenue Theater's Sixth Annual Women's Performance Series. Days, times vary.
