Wake

Tags: Wake, The Tempest, Shakespeare, Buntport Theater

In Shakespeare's The Tempest, the spirit Ariel conjures up a violent storm that leaves the people of Milan shipwrecked on a remote island. A revenge plot ensues, mixed with a love story and themes of forgiveness and hope. In Buntport's version, which they bill as "a corruption" of the original, the storm never happens, leaving the island's inhabitants stuck waiting for the plot to begin. Don't Miss: The opening and closing night performances include a reception with cocktails and desserts. Days, times vary.
