Shot over the span of more than three years, photographer Gregory Crewdson reveals the cinematic process he uses—elaborately staging scenes, working with lighting and special effects, and incorporating members of the actual neighborhoods he shoots in—to create his surreal photographs about American families, homes, and neighborhoods.
