The Color Purple
The Aurora Fox takes on the powerful story of Celie, a young African-American woman struggling with unthinkable evils in the early 1900s. Raped by her father, sold to an abusive man, and forced to endure a decades-long separation from the one person who loves her—her sister Nettie—Celie's story brings out the survivor instinct in us all. Ultimately, The Color Purple is a story about love and redemption. This musical version is set to a moving soundtrack of jazz, gospel, and blues. Fri-Sat 7:30 p.m.; Sun 2 p.m.
