Ride for the Pass
Start your summer in top gear by biking over the beautiful yet arduous Independence Pass near Aspen - before it's even open to cars. The Pass isn't drivable for public traffic until a week after the race, which takes brave riders along Highway 82 into the Independence Ghost Town. Stretching for 10 miles, the route lifts bikers up 2,500 feet in elevation through mesmerizing scenery. If your race time suffers because you stop to stare at the view, we won't blame you. Proceeds benefit the Independence Pass Foundation, which works to uphold the natural beauties of the Pass. Sat 10 a.m.
