Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris
Music and theater merge as a small cast performs songs by Belgium singer-songwriter—known as the Bob Dylan of Europe—Jacques Brel. The songs, many of which reflect on the Vietnam War and expose Brel’s anti-war sentiments, are connected by brief narration and the small cast’s choreographed responses to Brel’s words. Sung in English, Flemish, and French, songs in this worldly performance explore the culture of Western Europe in the mid-to-late 1900s. Thu-Sat 7:30 p.m.; Sat-Sun 2 p.m.
