Close Encounters of the Animated Kind
Who said animated films were just for kids? This four-day festival features 11 movies (ranging from 12-minute shorts to two-hour features) from eight countries. We're looking forward to Japan's From Up on Poppy Hill, France's Moon Man, and a Phil Hartman tribute preceded by a Skype conversation with the late actor's brothers. Your best bet: Pony up $40 for a festival pass that covers every flick. Days, times vary.
