Marcela Panasiti: Art from the Earth
Two years ago, Argentina-born artist Marcela Panasiti was told she had a brain tumor. After undergoing three surgeries in six months, she began rehabilitation and threw herself back into her work. In Art from the Earth, Panasiti created adobe canvases from the red, dark brown, and white soil surrounding her Sedona, Arizona home as the foundation for abstract and contemporary murals. Some have a smooth, glazed appearance, while others are parched, cracked, and weathered—but they all helped Panasiti move forward after her diagnosis. Tue-Sat 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun noon-4 p.m.
