Heimrad Bäcker: Landscape M
Austrian photographer Heimrad Bäcker—once a member of the Nazi Party and Hitler Youth—spent much of his adult life capturing the seemingly insignificant details at concentration camps. This exhibit, Bäcker’s first-ever in the United States (and the first in the world since his death 10 years ago), focuses on Mauthausen, one of the largest concentration camps in Austria, and presents a hauting depiction of the Holocaust and its impact on his native country.
