Bright. Abstract. Playful. Denver textile artist Gay E. Lasher's description of her Transformations exhibit is on the money. By digitally alterating to the shapes, colors, and lines in small sections of her photographs, Lasher turns mundane scenes (everything from construction sites to farm equipment) into vibrant compositions. The colorful sections are printed onto paperback cotton strips and then assembled into quilt-like panels for dramatic and obscure edits of the original photos. Days, times vary.
