You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but when they’re this pretty, that impulse can be hard to resist. For this group show, curators from Abecedarian Gallery selected 25 artists from around the country (including Denver’s own Mackenzie Browning) to show off some of the book art genre’s most beautiful designs. Most of the works will be recognizable cousins to what you’d find on a library shelf, but the standard paper and binding of old-school books are traded for more eccentric materials that range from leather and painted pages to wood and glass.
