This safety clinic instructs female adventurers about all aspects of avalanche preparation. The three-hour class, taught by Backcountry Access’s technology services specialist Dana Cowley, will teach participants how to use a transceiver—a device that can both transmit and receive communications in the event of an avalanche—and about the four phases of avalanche search-and-rescue: signal search, coarse search, fine search, and pinpointing. Sun 1-4 p.m.
