More than 20 artists will ditch the confines of a studio to explore Boulder for a week-long festival. Paintings created on-site will depict or find inspiration from Boulder’s scenic downtown such as Pearl Street Mall, surrounding mountains such as Chautauqua, valley areas, and nearby farms. If you want to test your art-skills, there will be four workshops open to the public including ‘Using Pastels in Plein Air’ at Mt. Sanitas Trail, hiking with Plein Air Artist Molly Davis at Chautauqua, a panel discussion on selling art directly to the public, and a public paint-out at Wonderland Lake during which the public is invited to bring supplies and questions for artists that will be on site to offer tips. Plus, because each artists will create 5 to 8 works, there will be more than 150 pieces to admire (and buy).
