This contemporary romance by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright and screenwriter Robert Schenkken follows the story of a professor’s widow exiled by her community and a Cuban refugee who tends to her wildly unkempt backyard. The play spins a tale of haunting pasts and unexpected futures as the two discover an unlikely connection through their similarly painful memories and feelings of alienation. Sitting in the director’s chair for this fervently poetic production is Edge Theater’s assistant artistic director Warren Sherrill, previously the co-founder of Denver’s Paragon Theatre.
