This stunning exhibit features works from 26 artists, all of whom explore their perceptions of Colorado's ever-changing landscapes. Attendees can peruse pieces in a wide variety of media, including works from midcentury photographer Robert Adams and modern photographer James Balog as well as paintings by Max Beckmann, a German expressionist who briefly lived in Boulder in the ’40s. Don't miss an installation of Navajo prints, which blends mythology with masterfully rendered, realist depictions of Centennial State scenery. Tue-Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Momix: Opus Cactus

Submitted by Meg McIntyre on Tue, 07/12/2016 - 11:51am

Contemporary dance meets theatrical illusion in this inventive celebration of movement. Inspired by the American Southwest, this performance consists of complex visual scenes, during which dancers contort and connect their bodies to depict the native flora and fauna of the desert, including slithering lizards and regal cactuses. Stunning lighting effects complete the image as the stage is flooded with bright color. Thu-Fri 7:30 p.m.
