In this atmospheric French crime thriller, scheming lovers Julien and Florence engineer the perfect murder of Simon, Florence’s husband and Julien’s employer, only for their plot to unravel when their victim gets stuck in an elevator. The film, which was famed director Louis Malle’s feature debut, is considered a touchstone of the noir genre and an important precursor to the New Wave Era of French cinema. Iconic crime writer James Ellroy, who moved to the Mile High City last year, will be on hand to introduce and discuss the film. Mon 7:30 p.m.
