Equivocation

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival doesn’t just showcase plays written by the famous bard—you can catch modern works written about Shakespeare, too. In the regional premiere of this clever dark comedy, playwright William Shagspeare is commissioned by King James I to write a play retelling the events of the Gunpowder Plot in a way that’s a bit more flattering to the king. Shagspeare, or Shag for short, must decide which is more important—telling the truth or fulfilling his duty to the crown. Thu-Sat 7:30 p.m.; Sun 1 p.m.
