In this limited-run production for those 17-years-old and up, discover the true story behind jazz legend Billie Holiday’s troubled life. Set in Philadelphia in 1959, this musically-driven play will see actress Mary Louise Lee revive her critically-acclaimed and award-winning portrayal of Holiday for a 90-minute, emotionally captivating performance. Watch as director Hugo Sayles, music director and pianist Michael Williams, and Lee weave together Holiday’s struggles against racism, addiction, and loss in a raw and honest performance that features her most famous and beloved songs, including “Strange Fruit” and “God Bless the Child.” Fri-Sat 7:30 p.m.; Sun 3 p.m.
