C Squared Cider One Year Anniversary Party

There's no better way to acknowledge a year of success than with a cold cider in hand. When you're not visiting the car and motorcycle show, enjoy barbecue from the Rackhouse while rock bands the Atomic Drifters and the Hot Apostles provide live music. Bonus: You can attend a gluten-free cider dinner on Wednesday and snag a whiskey barrel–aged palisade peach cider when it's tapped on Thursday. Sat-Thu, times vary.

GALA Festival

Celebrate the end of Pride Month by checking out the world’s largest LGBTQ performance. Musical groups from around the world, including the Beijing Queer Chorus, New York–based string quartet Well Strung, and Cuba’s only gay choir, Mano a Mano, will take the stage. You can also enjoy a flash mob rendition of “If You Were Gay” from the musical Avenue Q and catch a thought-provoking screening of the new documentary Call Me Kuchu, which explores gay rights in Uganda. Sat-Wed, times vary.

World Series of Youth Lacrosse

See the best young lacrosse players in the world compete in the heart of the Mile High City. Elite local teams in the Under 13 Boys division, including the Colorado Crush and the Denver Rifles, will compete with stellar footballers from all over the world to take home the top honors. In addition to watching the main event, you can check out the boys' footwork during a skill competition, which will focus on special abilities like having the fastest shot. Sat 8 a.m.-Sun 4 p.m.

Copa Alianza Adult Tournament

Come out to see the best soccer players in the state, including defending champions Unión Jerez, battle for glory in this tournament. Thirty-two amateur Hispanic teams will compete for a $4,000 check, and you can bring your old cleats and gear to donate to the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback program, which redistributes used items to children in underserved communities. Bonus: On Saturday afternoon, you'll have the chance to meet Mexican soccer legend Luis García. Sat 8 a.m.-Sun 3:30 p.m.

Rendezvous Run for Independence

Get a jumpstart on celebrating Independence Day with a 5-mile run. Competitors will wind their way through Winter Park Resort along the tree-lined Fraser River Trail and eventually finish at Rendezvous, a private alpine club, for a post-race celebration that will feature refreshments and prizes from Cooper Creek Square. Proceeds will benefit the Scott Hughes Foundation, which provides scholarships for children with kidney disease. Sat 9 a.m.-12 p.m. 

Cherry Creek Arts Festival

This lively outdoor festival features 250 national and international artists, including 26 from Colorado, working in 13 mediums. Be sure to check out five featured emerging artists, including Scott "Mr. Christmas" Hildebrandt, who creates complex whimsical sculptures from salvaged materials. Festival-goers can also enjoy the best of culinary and performing arts by visiting food booths from local vendors and enjoying live music from groups like funk band Global Soul Experience and electric string quartet Spinphony.

Young People's Concert: Machines and Dreams!

Expand your children's music taste beyond Top 40 hits through this introduction to classical music with the Colorado Musical Festival orchestra. The humorous and whimsical program features nontraditional solos from artists playing toy pianos and fishing rods. After the concert, stick around for a music fair on the lawn that includes an "instrument petting zoo," face painting, and balloon animals. Sat 10 a.m.

Lagers and Lumber

At this community-driven event, you can enjoy pitchers from local breweries including 300 Suns Brewing, Left Hand Brewing Company, and Oskar Blues Brewing as well as food from Samples World Bistro and Hefe's Tacos and Tequila to the soundtrack of a live show by Fort Collins–based funk group Eufórquestra. Volunteers from these brewhouses will volunteer to build a home for a family in need, and a portion of the proceeds from this tasting benefits the construction cause.
